Dr John Batchelor is currently Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Central Manchester Foundation Trust, England UK. He is also Honorary Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University. He graduated from Leeds University England, in 1982.He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland and Fellow of the Faculty of Emergency Medicine of England. He undertook his MD thesis at University College London. He has written extensively on the subject of minor head injuries.. He has presented a paper in Paris in 2012 on a Meta-analysis looking at the relationship between cerebral microbleeds and anitiplatelet agents. He has also recently published a meta-analysis on the effect on mortality of platelet transfusions in adults with spontaneous or traumatic antiplatelet associated intracranial haemorrhage. His current research interest lies in the area of risk factors for intracranial haemorrhage in both adults and paediatrics secondary to coagulopthy and thrombocytopenia.

Maria Liakopoulou-Kyriakides has completed her PhD in Chemistry, Postdoctoral studies at Yale University, USA in the section of Cell Biology. She has joined the Department of Chemical Engineering at Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece, since 1981 and has contributed to its development as Professor of Bioorganic Chemistry, teaching several undergraduate courses and recently as Director of the graduate program in Chemical Engineering. Enzi Jiang received her MD from Norman Bethune College of Medicine, Jilin University, formerly Norman Bethune University of Medical Science, Changchun, China in 1987. She completed her PhD from Harbin Medical University in 1999 and Postdoctoral research from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in 2007. She is working as a Senior Scientist at Division of Hematology and Oncology, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine, Los Angeles, USA. She has published more than 15 papers in reputed journals related to mesenchymal stem cells and leukemia and contributed to a book chapter (Chapter 4: Molecular Pathogenesis of ALL, Contemporary Management of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, In Press 2014). She has been serving as an Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Blood Disorders and Transfusion since February, 2013. Her research interests include overcoming drug resistance in ALL and related mechanisms.

Olfat M Hendy completed her MD at the age of 35 years from Clinical pathology deparetement, Menoufia Faclty of Medicine, Menoufia University, Egypt - and become professor of hematology & immunology at the same univerisity at 2009. He was on Judah Folkman’s staff at Harvard Medical School for 12 years. He is on the board of directors of the Colon Cancer Alliance and has published more than 60 papers in physics and cancer. Dr. Igor Križaj (1963) accomplished his doctoral studies at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, and at the Imperial College of London, UK. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute Pasteur in Paris. He is heading the Department of Molecular and Biomedical Sciences (http://www-b2.ijs.si/) at the Jožef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana since 2007. He is also a full Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Ljubljana.
